National Resistance Front (NRF)

The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (جبهه مقاومت ملی افغانستان) is the main grassroots armed resistance group fighting for the freedom of Afghanistan against the Taliban. The National Resistance Front, under the leadership of Ahmad Massoud, started in Panjshir and Andarab (Baghlan), and is spreading across Afghanistan. Although its leader, Ahmad Massoud, is an ethnic Tajik, the National Resistance Front is multi-ethnic and comprises of Tajiks, Hazaras, Uzbeks, Pashtuns, and members of other ethnic groups from Afghanistan.

Women’s Movement

Ever since the fall of Kabul to the Taliban on August 15, 2021, and especially after Ahmad Massoud called for a National Uprising (قیام ملی) (1),  the women of Afghanistan – Hazaras, Tajiks, Pashtuns, Uzbeks, and others – have fearlessly raised their voices against the gender apartheid, and Islamist and genocidal policies of the Taliban. The Women’s Movement of Afghanistan’s slogan is: Food, Work, and Freedom (نان٫ کار و آزادی). Although various women from the Women’s Movement have been threatened, targeted, and imprisoned by the Taliban (2), the women continue to raise their voices in various ways.
